Welcome to Adventurers School Age Care (SAC) Ltd. Adventurers SAC opened its first program June 1, 1991 with only 7 children. We now operate 6 programs: Triwood Community Centre, Capitol Hill School, Queen Elizabeth School, Mother Mary Greene School, St. Brigid School and St. Angela Workplace School.

Adventurers is a non-profit company. We believe in quality, licensed, monitored and accredited programs and we strive for excellence. We are proud to be involved with the broader childcare community at both a local and provincial level. This involvement supports us to remain current with any changes to childcare policy and it allows us to speak to policy changes on behalf of our families.

What we offer

Before and After School

Adventurers’ is a play-based program designed to provide opportunities for natural exploration of a variety of planned and free choice activities. These include but are not limited to, crafts, science, drama, dress-up, music, gym and outdoors, building toys, floor play toys, games and puzzles.

The children are encouraged to share their interests and activity ideas with us so that we may incorporate them in our daily choices. We provide a wide variety of equipment and supplies for your child to choose from. Activities are posted monthly on our parent board. When possible, we provide field trips, community exploring and special guests to share their expertise.

All activities are modified as needed to include all the different needs of our children.

Our Kindergarten Enhancement Director, Coaching and Mentoring Director along with our site Directors and educators are always looking for new ideas and enhancement programs to help support social and personal growth opportunities for your child. These programs are designed in partnership with children, parents and community partners. We are always looking for new ideas to incorporate that will help children develop skills and encourage community involvement.

We are always looking for a new Adventure!!!

Kindergarten Enhancement Programs

In addition to our regular before and after school programming, Adventurers is proud to offer kindergarten enhancement programs in some of our location.  Adventurers’ “Kindergarten Enhancement Director” and staffing teams work in collaboration with the kindergarten students’ teacher to create a program that compliments what they’re learning in their classrooms, while still adhering to our vision of living, learning and growing through play.  Throughout enhancement time we have plenty of opportunity to go outside and participate in games that not only help us to grow, but allow us to make new friends as well.  Our daily calendar activities help us to learn new concepts in Math, and we use group discussions to introduce and become familiar with new concepts before having the chance to dive in, get dirty and explore them for ourselves!  Whether we’re exploring the solar system, learning to appreciate the natural world around us, or practicing the skills we’ll need for the rest of our lives, we at Adventurers believe in having fun in everything we do!

Camps and Non-School Days

Spring, Summer and Christmas camps as well as non-school days are exciting times here at Adventurers! Having the students with us all day allows us to explore new and wonderful things that we don’t have time for during regular school days.  As such we always take the opportunity to expose our students to unique experiences; whether it be a field trip to one of Calgary’s exciting venues, exploring our local communities, or hosting guest presenters... there is always something new at Adventurers!

We invite you to join us here, where being a kid is a once in a lifetime Adventure!!!

Help your children develop good physical activity habits at an early age by setting a good example yourself. Practice heart-healthy habits.
